THE Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has declared Sunday, June 14, 2026, as black Sunday to mourn victims of terrorist attacks across the country.
The Association also said there will be national prayer from June 12 to 14.
Speaking at the end of its National Church Denominational Leadership Summit 2026, CAN Chairman, His Eminence, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, said prayers are not enough to tackle the security situation in the country.
He said there is the need for concrete actions to tackle the menace.
He urged the Federal government to declare a state of emergency on insecurity to bring an end to it.
Okoh also called for the acceleration of state police and decentralisation of security apparatus to bring quick solutions to it.
