A woman has narrated how she narrowly escaped what she believes was a “one-chance” robbery attempt in Ibadan, warning residents to remain vigilant while using public transport in the city.
In a video shared online, the woman explained that the incident happened after she boarded a vehicle. According to her, she initially paid little attention to the conversation in the car because she was listening to music.
However, she said she later paused her music after noticing the driver and another passenger discussing a bag allegedly containing dollars.
“At some point they started talking about a bag and dollars. I was confused because I had seen something like that on TikTok before, but this was my first time witnessing something like that myself,” she said.
The woman, who noted that she has lived in Ibadan for about three years, said the conversation made her uncomfortable as the situation began to feel suspicious.
She explained that after questioning what was happening and raising concerns, she eventually managed to leave the vehicle and escape the situation safely.
Following the experience, she urged residents of Ibadan to be extremely cautious when boarding vehicles.
