A Nigerian female footballer, Ihotu John Rebecca, has reportedly been kidnapped, sending shockwaves through the local sports community.

Ihotu John Rebecca, a player in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership, was abducted along the Benin Expressway. The footballer, who features for Pacesetter Queens FC, was reportedly seized by unknown gunmen while in transit.

According to information circulating online, her captors are demanding a ransom of ₦20 million for her release.
