President Bola Tinubu has approved the construction of a 600-capacity hostel complex for the Nigerian Law School in Abuja. The President also gave the green light for a new road to be built, linking the Body of Benchers Secretariat in Jabi District to Nile University.
Tinubu has directed the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to begin work immediately on the two new hostels, each with a capacity of 300 students. The projects are to be executed under “emergency consideration,” according to a statement released on Tuesday by the minister’s media aide, Lere Olayinka.
The new accommodation, which includes one 300-capacity female hostel and a separate 300-capacity male hostel, is intended to provide much-needed housing for students at the Abuja campus of the Nigerian Law School.
In addition, the road connecting the Body of Benchers Secretariat with Nile University is expected to help ease traffic congestion, particularly on the route leading to the head office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
