Osun 2026: We’re solidly behind you, Orolu, Irepodun APC leaders declare support for Oyebamiji

Gubernatorial aspiration of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly called AMBO, got a boost on Sunday as leaders and members of the party – All Progressives Congress, APC ecstatically received him and endorsed his candidature as preferred candidate for the 2026 governorship election in Osun State.

APC stalwarts in Orolu and Irepodun Local Government Areas of Osogbo Federal Constituency had earlier assembled at the venues of the programme where members of AMBO Movement team were welcomed into the domains.

Recall that the MD/CEO of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) has been touring local governments to consult with leaders and members of the party regarding his governorship aspiration.

Speaking intermittently during the consultation visits to Orolu and Irepodun Local Government Areas, APC Leader in Orolu Local Government, Hon. Rasheed Oyedele, Orolu Local Government APC Chairman, Hon. Awolade Najeem, former member, House of Representatives, Hon. Bukola Oyewo, former Chairman, Orolu Local Government, Hon. Adekunle Adesina Benson, APC leader and former member Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Nasiru Babatunde Olateju, APC Chairman, Irepodun Local Government, Comrade Kamoru Adejumo, APC Vice Chairman Osogbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Babatunde Adegoke, Chairman Irepodun Local Government, Hon. Goke Ogunsola and Chairman, Irepodun Local Council Development Authority, LCDA, Hon. Oloyede Kamoli Adekunle ( Jaykay), declared unflinching support for Oyebamiji.

The leaders expressed confidence in Oyebamiji’s competence and capacity to lead the party to victory and turnaround the socioeconomic and political fortunes of the State.

They pledged to mobilize massively in order to ensure Oyebamiji’s victory in the next governorship election and that of President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

In his remarks, Oyebamiji expressed profound gratitude to the leaders and members of the party for their steadfastness, resoluteness and unflinching support overtime.

He enjoined the leadership of the party not to relent on their oars in advancing the cause of APC as the party approaches election season, noting “no efforts would be spared to ensure the party continues to wax stronger every day.”

Oyebamiji urged the Osun citizens, particularly the unregistered adults to participate in the upcoming Continuous Voters’ Registration, adding that those who had previously registered but not collected their Permanent Voters Cards should do so without further delay

“I can see that the two local governments here are solidly behind us as manifested in the impressive turnout today. I am elated. I can see that you are doing well to ensure my emergence. I want to further implore you not to relent in your efforts. Please don’t rest on your oars as we approach the election period. By the grace of God, we will not let you down.

Meanwhile, Oyebamiji used the occasion of the consultation tour to lead AMBO Movement on a condolence visit to one of the party’s loyalists and associate of the Executive Director, Operations, Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, Engr. Olalekan Badmus, Mrs Sofia Toyin Adebayo who recently lost her father.
