The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says it has suspended admission of candidates into eight universities to study Law.
JAMB says this is happening because the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) programme in the affected institutions was recently suspended by Council of Legal Education (CLE) for violating regulatory procedures.
Spokesperson of JAMB, Dr Fabian Benjamin, listed the affected institutions to include the Kwara State University, Malete, Ilorin; Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State; Redeemers University, Ede, Osun State; and Western Delta University, Oghara, Delta State.
The other affected institutions are Taraba State University, Jalingo; Arthur Jarvis University, Akpabuyo, Cross River State; Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State; and Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State.
According to JAMB, the suspension for seven of the institutions will last for only the 2025/2026 session but that of the Nigerian Police Academy will last ill the 2026/2027 session.
Benjamin said, “As a result, JAMB will not approve any admissions for candidates seeking to enrol in the Law programme at the aforementioned universities for the 2025/2026 academic session.”
