Paris 2024: Ajibade, Oshoala shine as Super Falcons Wallops Ethiopia

THE Super Falcons of Nigeria have booked a place in the next qualifying round of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France after thrashing Ethiopia 4-0 at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja, on Tuesday, October 31.

The two nations played out a 1-1 draw when they met in the first leg in Addis Ababa, on Wednesday, October 25.

The Super Falcons failed to convert their chances early in the game, but found the back of the net on the stroke of half-time through Uchenna Kanu.

Ajibade doubled Nigeria’s lead five minutes after the restart after a wonderful play from Asisast Oshoala from the right wing.

The Barcelona striker got a goal for herself in the 68th minute after turning in Kanu’s brilliant cross.

Oshoala turned provider once again as she set up Ajibade for her second goal of the game in the 72nd minute to give the Super Falcons a comfortable 4-0 win.
