Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye Removed As Soun Of Ogbomoso

VAM News Update

An Oyo State High Court sitting in Ogbomoso has nullified the appointment of Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye as Soun of Ogbomoso.

The Oyo state government had in August announced Pastor Ghandi Olaoye as the new Soun.

Before this time, another aspirant for the position, Kabir Laoye, approached the court to challenge the eligibility of Ghandi.

Prince Kabir Olaoye who challenged Ghandi’s selection explained that there was a flaw in the selection process.

While delivering his judgment, Justice Adedokun who was hearing the case announced that the appointment of King Laoye was illegal.

He also ordered the kingmakers to start a new selection process to elect a new Soun.
