Ebonyi PDP gov candidate to employ ICT: Crimes

The Ebonyi governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ifeanyi Odii, has said he will deploy the use of information and communication technologies to fight crime and criminalities in the state, instead of the Ebubeagu Security Outfit.

This was as he said no amount of intimidation or victimisation would dissuade Ebonyi voters from casting their votes and electing their choice leaders, come 2023.

The Ebubeagu Security Outfit, has of late, been accused of victimising, dehumanising, and intimidating opposition members in the state.

This alleged oppression has generated widespread outcry within and outside the state.

The governorship hopeful, who stated this during the 25-Year Anniversary Celebration/ Dedication of Emmanuel Church Azuiyiokwu, Diocese of Abakaliki Anglican Communion in the state, on Thursday, called on voters to focus on the antecedents of every candidate, rather than their campaign promises.

He said, “As a Governor, there will be free education. As a Governor, I will deploy technology instead of Ebubeagu to fight crime and criminalities. As a Governor, the civil servants will go home smiling every month.

“No matter the amount of intimidation will stop Ebonyi people from voting PDP in 2023 general election. Ebonyi is PDP and PDP is Ebonyi State. I will deploy technology instead of Ebubeagu in the fight against crimes and criminality.”

He expressed dissatisfaction over the poverty rate in the state, adding that one of the key objectives of his government would be to harness the rich natural endowment of the state for the betterment of the people.

“As a Governor, our children will be in school and their parents will not know that their children are in school. Am in the House of God and this is not where you make empty promises. The pedigree or antecedent of the person that wants to be Governor matters alot. Vote for somebody who has the fear of God,” he added.

In his message, His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Monday Nkwoagu, Bishop of Abakaliki Diocese, admonished Christians to live a life that pleased God always. CONTINUE READING………………………
