Manchester United footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez have announced that their newborn baby boy has died.
The pair announced on social media last October they were expecting twins. In a video in December, they revealed they were expecting a boy and a girl.
The news was confirmed via a post on Cristiano’s Twitter page on Monday evening (April 18). The football star wrote: “It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel.
“Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support.
“We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”
Cristiano Ronaldo shared the sad news on Twitter
Cristiano, who has played for Manchester United since 2003, has four children. He has a daughter, Alana Martina, with partner Georgina, who was born in November 2017.
