…Pledges 1.5m Votes For Tinubu
THE Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied reports that it set up a parallel presidential campaign committee different from the one inaugurated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a press statement issued on Wednesday, 4th November 2026, and signed by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, the party said Governor Ademola Adeleke remains the state coordinator of the presidential campaign as appointed by the President.
The party explained that the only other committee in place in the state is the Parliamentary Campaign Committee, which is saddled with the responsibility of campaigning for the APC National and State Houses of Assembly candidates.
The committee is headed by the governorship candidate of the APC in the last election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), as its Director-General.
“Nothing could have warranted our party to inaugurate a parallel presidential election campaign committee when it is in the public domain that Governor Adeleke who has offered to work with other political parties in the state to garner over 1.5 million votes for President Tinubu in the forthcoming presidential election has been appointed the campaign committee co-ordinator,” the statement read.
The Osun APC said it has repeatedly expressed gratitude to Governor Adeleke for his resolve to lead the campaign for the presidential candidate, and that it is ready and willing to work with him.
It cited the event of last Saturday at the Nelson Mandela Park, Osogbo, as testimony of its resolve to work with the governor for the overall electoral victory of President Tinubu.
The party appealed to “agents of evil machination” to desist from trying to bring rancour, division and disunity to the rainbow coalition, which it said is evidently yielding bountiful results.
It also clarified that Asiwaju Oyebamiji remains the Director-General of the parliamentary campaign organization and is also jointly promoting the good works of the presidential candidate to garner over 1.5 million votes for the President.
The party further expressed pleasure that some of its State Exco members called its attention to the omission of their names, only four out of 35 Exco members from the list as reported on social media on Tuesday.
It described their resentment as an indication that they were desirous to be counted among active participants of those who made the campaign list of the Oyebamiji-led parliamentary campaign council.
