The Osun State Signage, Hoarding and Advertisement Agency (O’Signage) has refuted allegations of partisanship levelled against it by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate for Osun Central, Mr. Goke Omigbodun, describing the claims as malicious and spurious.
Omigbodun had accused the agency of targeting his campaign materials during an enforcement exercise.
In a press statement signed by the O’Signage Consultant to the Osun State Government, Hon. Muyiwa Olufajo, the agency said it was compelled to state the facts for the benefit of the public.
The agency stated that its operations have no relationship with Governor Ademola Adeleke and at no point has the Governor directed it to take action against or in favour of any individual, contrary to Omigbodun’s claims.
“The Agency deals directly with practitioners and not individuals. We know Mr Omigbodun is not a practitioner,” the statement read.
O’Signage explained that any practitioner seeking to place lampposts must apply to the agency for approval, adding that it has no record of application or approval for lampposts bearing Omigbodun’s pictures.
It disclosed that its enforcement team removed only eight lampposts with Omigbodun’s pictures during its routine enforcement exercise on Tuesday, 20th October, 2026, out of over 40 lampposts he reportedly erected within the Osogbo metropolis.
The agency advised Omigbodun to engage a registered practitioner to make necessary applications and obtain approvals before erecting lampposts to avoid wrong placements.
“We wish to state that the Agency will continue to treat all candidates equally and give them equal opportunities. The Agency will do everything within its powers to ensure things are done rightly,” Olufajo added.
