THE Independent National Electoral Commission has launched an online self-service portal that enables eligible Nigerians to register for a Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC), transfer their voting location, update their details and replace lost or damaged voter cards.
The platform, part of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, allows first-time voters to complete the entire registration process on their mobile phones, including biometric capture, without visiting an INEC office.
The commission introduced the portal after extending the nationwide CVR exercise by two weeks, moving the deadline from July 10 to July 24, 2026, to allow more eligible Nigerians to register ahead of future elections.
Eligible Nigerians can register through the INEC Self-Service CVR Portal by following these steps:
Step 1: Visit the portal

According to INEC, the pre-registration system reduces the time spent at registration centres because applicants would have already submitted their biodata online. It also enables the commission to manage the number of expected registrants at each registration centre.
