Our attention has been drawn to a rumour circulating around claiming that Hon. Oyewole Aderemi, popularly known as Guilder (the leading aspirant), has stepped down from contesting for the Ondo State House of Assembly, Idanre State Constituency. We wish to categorically inform the good people of Idanre that this is false and baseless propaganda.
In a press release dated 30th March, 2026, it was clearly stated that Hon. Oyewole Aderemi Guilder expressed his appreciation to the Executive Governor of Ondo State, H.E. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for the trust reposed in him to serve as Senior Special Assistant on Inter-Party Affairs as being relieved from the position to pursue the member house of the assembly race.
However, some individuals have deliberately misconstrued this statement and spread misinformation.
It will be recalled that the declaration of intent by Hon. Oyewole Aderemi Guilder to contest for the Ondo State House of Assembly, Idanre Constituency, has generated reactions in some quarters, as he is a political heavyweight in Idanre and Ondo State at large.
Such political manoeuvres are not new; they are a familiar tactic of political calumny. We wish to state unequivocally that Hon. Oyewole Aderemi Guilder remains the people’s choice for Idanre Constituency, the leading aspirant, and is fully in the race for the position of Member, Ondo State House of Assembly.
We seize this opportunity to thank our loyal supporters and the good people of Idanre for their continued commitment to development, good governance, quality and effective representation. We commend your resilience, doggedness, and unwavering support.
We urge the general public and our esteemed supporters to disregard the rumour and remain law-abiding citizens while awaiting the decision of the leaders of our great party (APC) on the selection of its flag bearer for the forthcoming elections.
