Osun: Olojudo Palace seals church over attempt to cause religious crisis

THE Palace of Olojudo Alayemore of Ido-Osun Kingdom, Oba Olayinka Ishola Jokotola, has ordered sealing of the God of White Calling for All Souls Ministries Central Headquarters located within the community over attempt to cause religious unrest in the town.

It would be recalled that the Founder of the Church, Prophet Odeyemi Ezekiel, was in the news recently for entering the Osun Osogbo sacred groove and allegedly desecrating the groove.

The alleged entry has drawn fires and backlash from traditional worshippers who saw the act as an invitation to a religious crisis.

A statement by the Eesa of Ido-Osun, High Chief Basiru Oyewale on Tuesday revealed that the palace has visited the church to invite the pastor but didn’t meet him while every other efforts to hear from him has been fruitless.

“Having refused to show up despite invitation and visitation to his, the Palace will not look akimbo while some elements are attempting cause religious unrest in Ido-Osun Alayemore Kingdom.

“We see the act by Odeyemi as an invitation to religious crisis, which has never been recorded in our Kingdom and if not checked properly, may jeopardize the peaceful coexistence among three religions in Ido-Osun and Osun State at large.

“The Kabieesi Alayemore has ordered that the church be sealed immediately and indefinitely while its founder is also declared wanted by the Palace,” Chief Oyewale said.

The Palace also revealed that the Christian Association of Nigeria, Ido-Osun chapter has dissociated itself from Odeyemi and his actions.

The statement said, “Most worrisome is the fact that the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has distanced itself from Prophet Odeyemi and declared that he is not their member.”
