Man found dead on tree, police begin investigation

The Adamawa State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the discovery of a lifeless body in Girei Local Government Area.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje today March 23, the incident was reported on March 23, 2026, as a case of sudden and unnatural death.

The body, identified as that of 46-year-old Ahmed Mohammed from Anguwan Hona, was found hanging on a tree at the foothills of Bagale Mountain.

The deceased was subsequently evacuated to Cottage Hospital, Girei, where a medical doctor confirmed him dead.

Police authorities have stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Command has also called on members of the public with relevant information to assist in the ongoing investigation.
