APC denying me nomination form after I paid N5.1m — Fubara

Fubara Dagogo, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has accused the party of deliberately refusing to hand him a nomination form for the office of national vice-chairman (south-south), after he paid N5.1 million.

Speaking in an interview on Channels Television on Sunday, Dagogo, who hails from Rivers state, accused the APC of deliberately disenfranchising him despite the position being zoned to his state.

THE CASE

The national convention of the APC has been scheduled to take place from March 27 to 28, 2026.

During the convention, the party is expected to elect members who will occupy the party’s national offices and serve on the national working committee (NWC) of the party.

On Sunday, the party asked aspirants who have purchased and submitted their nomination forms for national offices to attend the screening exercise scheduled for Tuesday at Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.

On March 16, APC announced that the existing zoning arrangement for NWC positions across states within the geopolitical zones remains valid and applicable for the 2026 national convention.

Victor Giadom, the current APC national vice-chairman (south-south), is from Rivers state.

‘OVER 600 ASPIRANTS YET TO RECEIVE FORMS’

Speaking on the development, Dagogo said over 600 aspirants for national offices are yet to receive their nomination forms despite making payments.

The APC chieftain said there is an order from “invisible” party faithful that he should not be given the nomination form to contest the position.

“The office (national positions) has been opened for contest. The party has come out to tell Nigerians that they are ready for the national convention,” he said.

“They made the account open, encouraged party faithful to pick their respective positions, and pay for the forms.

“I think somebody is stopping me from not receiving the nomination form. I’m not the only one affected. There are more than 600 aspirants, who have bought forms.

“I went there (APC headquarters) on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and up to this hour, they refused to give me a form.

“They said the forms have been exhausted and that they don’t have forms. They said they are waiting for forms to be printed.

“This is not the principle of the party. We formed this party from the ACN. We were part of the legacy committee that brought the legacy parties together to form the APC.”
