Woman Shares Shocking Story of Allegedly Marrying Another Woman’s Husband After 18 Years

A woman has taken to social media to recount her painful and complicated marital journey, revealing how what began as an arranged marriage turned into what she now describes as “the worst mistake” of her life.

According to her, she got married at the age of 18 after her husband’s mother, who was a friend of her own mother, introduced the idea of the union. At the time, she had never met the man, who was said to be based in Lagos and doing well for himself.

After eventually meeting him, the two dated briefly for just two months before proceeding with a traditional and white wedding barely a month later.

She described the early stage of their relationship as promising, stating that he provided for her, communicated frequently, and made her feel comfortable. However, things took a different turn shortly after the marriage.

Her husband allegedly told her she would remain in the village temporarily while he sorted out accommodation issues in Lagos. What was meant to last a few months reportedly stretched into five years.

During this period, she lived with her mother-in-law, who she described as caring and supportive. Meanwhile, her husband would visit occasionally—spending a short time with her before returning to Lagos.

Over the years, she had three children for him.

She revealed that she became increasingly frustrated with the arrangement and, at one point, returned to her parents’ home. However, she was persuaded to go back due to societal and family pressures, especially because she already had a child at the time.

Eventually, driven by suspicion and a desire for answers, she secretly gathered information about her husband’s whereabouts in Lagos. Under the pretense of visiting a deceased friend, she left her children behind with her mother-in-law and traveled to Lagos to uncover the truth.
