Woman Shares Alleged Narrow Escape From Suspected Ritualist Vehicle in Abuja

A woman has narrated how she believes she narrowly escaped danger after allegedly spotting a snake inside a car that offered her a ride in Abuja.

The incident reportedly occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday near Sariva Park Estate in the Lugbe area of the Federal Capital Territory.

According to the woman, she had just finished making her hair at a salon and was heading home when the incident happened.

She explained that while leaving the salon, she noticed several vehicles parked along the road. One of the drivers, who was reportedly inside a silver-colored Toyota Camry, was making a phone call with his window partially rolled down.

As she walked past the car, she said she overheard the driver telling someone on the phone to “bring the plate,” a statement that did not initially raise suspicion for her.

Shortly afterward, the driver reportedly drove past her, stopped, and offered to take her to the nearby junction where she could easily get a motorcycle or other transportation.

The woman said she was experiencing a severe headache after making her hair and initially hesitated, as she usually does not accept rides from strangers. However, because of the pain and the short distance to the junction, she decided to accept the offer.

According to her, when the driver asked her to get into the car, she opened the door and noticed that the interior lights were off, leaving the inside relatively dark.

As she attempted to enter, she said she looked toward the passenger seat and was shocked to see what appeared to be a moving snake.

“I screamed and slammed the door immediately,” she said, adding that the driver repeatedly asked what was wrong.

She told him that she saw a snake inside the car, but the driver insisted there was nothing there.

Thinking the severe headache might have affected her vision, the woman said she opened the car door again to confirm what she had seen.

However, she claimed that she saw the snake a second time, describing it as moving on the seat.

Alarmed, she screamed again and refused to enter the vehicle.

According to her, two men who were standing nearby later approached her after noticing her reaction. She said they told her they believed she had seen something based on the way she screamed.

When the car lights were eventually turned on and a flashlight used to check the vehicle, the woman said nothing was found.

Despite this, she maintained that she clearly saw a snake inside the car.

The driver eventually left the scene, while the two bystanders reportedly advised her to be careful and thankful that nothing harmful happened.
