A Nigerian woman has revealed that she personally financed every aspect of her wedding, only to later realize that her husband was struggling with a gambling habit.
Speaking during an interview, the woman explained that she paid for virtually everything involved in the ceremony, including the wedding ring.
“I paid for everything for the wedding, down to the ring,” she said.
According to her, the money sprayed on her during the celebration was also withdrawn from her own account.
She added that she handled several other expenses for the event, including catering and other preparations. The woman also disclosed that she invited and paid some social media influencers to attend the wedding, covering their logistics with her own money.
Despite paying for the event, she said she allowed her husband to maintain the public image of being responsible for the wedding out of respect for both families.
“For the sake of my parents and his parents, he still had that respect that it was him,” she explained.
When asked about her husband’s financial situation, the woman said she initially met him when he appeared to be financially stable.
However, she later discovered that much of his income came from gambling, particularly sports betting.
According to her, the warning signs were present earlier in the relationship, but she admitted that she ignored them.
