‘Excellence personified’… OOPA, Friends, Admirers Rain Praises On Late Chairman, Adesoji Omosebi At Candlelight Gathering

•As Olowu Kuta, OOPA Condole, Support Burial Arrangements

THE Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) under the leadership of Mukhtar Ajelogbon on Thursday night held a solemn Special Valedictory Service and Candlelight Vigil in honour of its late former chairman, Adesoji Omosebi, publisher of SOJ Worldwide News, celebrating a life defined by unity, service, and journalistic excellence.

The special remembrance took place opposite at the deceased residence, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo, where colleagues, family members, neighbours, Church members and friends gathered to pay their last respects and reflect on the enduring legacy of the media icon.

Late Omosebi, who passed away on December 7, 2025, was remembered as a bridge builder, a man whose leadership style emphasised collaboration over rivalry and collective progress over personal glory.

Speaking during the vigil, his son shared touching testimonies gathered from close associates of his late father, describing him as someone who believed that “winning alone was boring,” a philosophy that guided his approach to leadership and journalism.

Delivering a brief sermon, Apostle Henry Ojo urged members of OOPA to uphold and sustain Omosebi’s legacy, noting that the late publisher deliberately built his media brand to outlive him and serve as a platform for unity and truth. He also charged members to remain close to the Omosebi family

Speaking during the candlelight service, OOPA Chairman, Mukhtar Ajelogbon who announced a token financial support to the burial arrangement on behalf of the association as a sign of solidarity, also delivered a royal support and recognition from the association Patron, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Adekunle Oyelude Makama (CON) the Olowu of Kuta, sent a condolence message and finance support to the family towards the burial arrangements.

Meanwhile, the remains of Adesoji Omosebi are expected to be released from the morgue today, ahead of his final interment scheduled for Saturday, January 24, 2026, at his residence in Ibadan, Oyo State.
