Chelsea Football Club have confirmed the appointment of Liam Rosenior as the new head coach of the men’s team.
Rosenior, a former Premier League and Championship player, takes charge at Stamford Bridge with a growing reputation as a coach, having worked in youth development and first-team roles where he earned plaudits for his tactical approach and focus on young players.
The club said it was confident that the former Strasbourg coach would inject fresh ideas, energy and strong leadership into the squad as Chelsea target success at domestic and European levels.
In a statement on the club’s official website, Chelsea said: “Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Liam Rosenior as head coach of the men’s team. The club extends a warm welcome to Rosenior and looks forward to his leadership on and off the pitch. Welcome to Chelsea, Liam!”
Rosenior joins the Blues after a stint with RC Strasbourg, where he guided the French side to European qualification for the first time in 19 years in his debut season, having previously managed Hull City and worked at Derby County.
On his appointment, he said: ‘I am extremely humbled and honoured to be appointed Head Coach of Chelsea Football Club. This is a club with a unique spirit and a proud history of winning trophies.
The 41-year-old has signed a contract with Chelsea that will run until 2032.
“My job is to protect that identity and create a team that reflects these values in every game we play as we continue winning trophies. To be entrusted with this role means the world to me and I want to thank all involved for the opportunity and faith in undertaking this job. I will give everything to bring the success this club deserves.

Chelsea added that Rosenior has demonstrated an ability to build teams with a clear playing identity while maintaining high standards on and off the pitch.
