THE Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the ruling Peoples Democratic Party and the state government of a plan to attack members of the APC across the local government council areas in the state.
The chairman of the APC in Osun, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement on Saturday, disclosed that the alleged planned attack was due to Friday’s Supreme Court judgement which he said favoured his party.
Lawal said five members of the APC in Otan-Aiyegbaju, Boluwaduro Local Government Council Area of the state were allegedly attacked and grievously wounded by some hoodlums working for the PDP on Friday.
The APC chairman urged the Inspector-General of Police and the Nigerian Security Agency (NSA) to be alerted to the situation and prevent the breakdown of law and order by the state government.
His words: The question that is agitating the right-thinking members of the society is how can a person’s case be declared incompetent and struck out, and the person be claiming victory?
“We are imploring our members and supporters to continue to imbibe the principles of the rule of law, which have carried us this far in our political journey, to instil sanity into the local government administration in the state.
“We are not unaware of the fact that Governor Adeleke and his wandering political co-travellers are needlessly engaging in stratagem as tactics to keep their gullible followers’ hope such that the imminent implosion in their political camp will not happen earlier than expected.”
