Osun 2026: Accord party chair dismisses Report On Governor Adeleke’s Defection

News Update

THE Osun State Chairman of Accord, Pastor Victor Akande, has dismissed a media report suggesting that Governor Ademola Adeleke failed to consult him regarding his second-term bid. Akande issued the clarification on Monday in a formal statement.

Akande, who also serves as Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, in Osun State, in a statement on Monday said he never made any official comment on the matter attributed to him in the report.

“I never issued any official statement regarding Governor Adeleke,” he said.

He described the information circulating in the media as incorrect and stressed that only official communication from Accord should be relied upon by the public.

According to him, the party will address the matter formally.

“Accord will soon make an official statement for the information of the entire public,” he noted.

He urged residents and political stakeholders to disregard unauthorised reports, adding that verified updates would be communicated directly by the party.

Akande restated that the public should “believe only the information availed directly and officially by the political party.”
