WCQ: Super Eagles set target against Gabon

News Update

THE Super Eagles has declared readiness for battle against the Panthers of Gabon, Calvin Bassey said.

VAM News reports that Éric Chelle’s side will take on their fellow West Africans in the semi-final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs in Rabat on Thursday (today).

The Super Eagles recovered from their slow start in the qualifiers to secure a place in the playoffs.

Bassey declared that the players are brimming with confidence ahead of the game with Gabon.

“I think we started very slow but we are now, hope has been restored, we just have to make sure that we keep going and just take the game as it comes, we are Nigeria, we are a massive nation, and we know there is a lot of expectation and responsibility,” Bassey told Sporty TV.
