THE Osun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has intensified its 2025 Ember Months Road Safety Campaign with a motorized road show across major parts of Osogbo, aimed at promoting safer driving habits and reducing road traffic crashes during the festive period.
Led by the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Leye Adegboyega, officers of the Corps, including Special Marshals and members of the NYSC Road Safety Club, embarked on the motorcade from the State Command headquarters in Abere. The convoy made several stopovers at motor parks such as Aregbe and Old Garage, where drivers, passengers, and transport union members were sensitized on the need to adhere strictly to traffic regulations.
During the event, safety awareness flyers were distributed, while the theme of this year’s campaign — “Take Responsibility for Your Safety, Stop Distracted Driving” — was prominently emphasized.
Speaking at the motor parks, Corps Commander Adegboyega underscored the objectives of the campaign, which include reducing the rate of crashes, educating road users on the consequences of traffic violations, promoting responsible vehicle loading, and strengthening collaboration among transport stakeholders and safety agencies.
He stressed that road safety is a shared responsibility that requires the active participation of all road users, calling on media organizations and community leaders to help spread the message of safety beyond the parks.
“Behind every road safety statistic is a human being — a child, a parent, a colleague, or a friend. We must all work together to prevent avoidable losses on our roads,” Adegboyega said.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Command to ensuring a safe motoring environment across Osun State, especially as the year-end activities intensify during the Ember Months.
