Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has approved the appointment of the Olugbon of Orile Igbon, Oba Francis Olusola Alao as the permanent chairman of the Surulere traditional council.
The appointment was communicated in a letter addressed to the Olugbon by the Commissioner for Local government and chieftaincy affairs this month.
The letter read: “I am directed to refer to the above subject and to formally communicate to you the gracious approval granted by His Excellency, the Executive Governor, regarding the gazette of the Power of Prescribed Authority and the Permanent chairmanship of the Surulere Local Government Traditional Council.
“This momentous decision, which recognizes your distinguished leadership, reaffirms your unparalleled position in your community and highlights the esteem with which you are held above other Minor chieftaincies of the area over which the Power of Prescribed Authority covers as listed herein; as highlighted below; Kere, Atile, Alagbede, Mumuni, Ogojo, Igbo-Aka, Somoroki, Idi-Oro, Aresojowi, Ogunba, Kojomoniyi, Alaake, Oriokuta, Alaparun, Jagun Dabo.
