Apply: NAF announces fresh recruitment

THE Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has commenced the recruitment of graduates and postgraduates into the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 34/2025.

The exercise, according to the force, is free of charge and open to qualified Nigerians who meet the stated requirements.

The announcement was contained in a notice signed by Air Vice Marshal A.H. Bakari, on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff, and posted on the official NAF Facebook page on Tuesday.

Interested applicants are directed to complete their registration online via www.nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng.

According to the guidelines, candidates are expected to carefully study the specific disciplines listed on the recruitment portal before filling out their forms. Upon completion, applicants must print an acknowledgment slip, a parent or guardian consent form, and a local government attestation form.

The NAF explained that the attestation form must be endorsed by a recognized authority. This could be a military officer not below the rank of Wing Commander, a police officer not below Assistant Commissioner, a substantive local government chairman or secretary, or a magistrate from the applicant’s state of origin.

Eligibility requirements specify that only Nigerian citizens by birth can apply.

Applicants must be between the ages of 20 and 32, while medical doctors (consultants) are allowed between the ages of 25 and 40.

In addition, male candidates must not be shorter than 1.66m and female candidates not less than 1.63m.

The Air Force also stressed that candidates must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit, with no history of criminal conviction. Serving personnel who wish to apply must have recommendations from their commanding officers, must have spent a minimum of five years in service, and attained the rank of Corporal or its equivalent.

On academic requirements, NAF stated that applicants must hold at least a Second Class Lower Division for degree holders or Upper Credit for HND holders.

Possession of a Master’s degree, computer literacy, or membership of relevant professional bodies will be considered an added advantage.

Medical professionals must also present certificates of registration with their statutory regulatory bodies in Nigeria.

The online registration exercise will run from Wednesday, 27 August 2025, to Tuesday, 7 October 2025. A zonal aptitude test will follow, with the exact date to be announced later through the official recruitment portal.
