A woman known as Modupe Alasin has been reportedly gave up the ghost after she was mercilessly beaten by her supposed husband.
The incident happened in Efon Alaaye, Ekiti State.
According to a witness, the man had flogged the wife severely because she came late to the farm.
The woman was heard by the witness screaming and begging for mercy as the husband flogged her repeatedly
A few minutes after the beating, the man ordered the woman to get water from the nearby stream but on getting to the stream the woman slumped and died, perhaps she was too weak due to the heavy beating.
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Police Command, SP Sunday Abutu confirmed the incident to Newsmen.
SP Abutu affirmed that the husband has been arrested for further investigation.
