Popular Nigerian rapper and activist Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has opened up about his concerns regarding raising children in Nigeria, citing insecurity and economic instability as key factors behind his hesitation.
Ā
Speaking during a recent episode of the Dear Ife Series podcast hosted by Ifedayo Agoro, Falz was asked whether he would consider raising his children in Nigeria if he eventually becomes a parent.
Ā
The rapper responded thoughtfully, saying, āAh! Thatās a deep question. I didnāt expect to hear this question. I havenāt really thought that far, let me not lie.ā
Ā
He went on to explain that Nigeriaās current security situation, threats he faces due to his activism, and general public apathy make it difficult for him to commit to raising a family in the country.
Ā
āItās something I cannot outrightly say āyesā to. And itās so sad,ā he said. āBut I canāt also outrightly say ānoā because Iām pro-Nigerian and I really believe that we can actually get it right. But I donāt know⦠letās see.ā
