The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has taken over investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Trade and Export, Chief Shimite Love.
Love reportedly died in the early hours of Easter Monday, as the deceased’s family accused the husband over the death.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP. Bright Edafe, disclosed this on Monday in Asaba, the state capital.
He said the deceased’s family had applied for the case to be transferred to the force headquarters.
“The family applied and the force headquarters came to take over the matter,” Edafe said.
The state police command had earlier confirmed that autopsy had been carried out to ascertain the cause of her death and that the result was being expected.
