The people of Ofatedo in Egbedore South Local Council Development Area of Osun State are in celebration mood following the emergence of a new traditional ruler.
The new monarch is His Royal Highness, Oba Saka Abioye Ademola, who has been approved as the Olofa of Ofatedo.
His approval was announced by the Ofatedo Descendants Union (ODU) in a congratulatory message signed by its National Chairman, Comrade Rasak Afolabi, on Monday, October 27, 2026.
Comrade Afolabi said the appointment is a historic moment for Ofatedo, bringing joy to all sons and daughters of the ancient town.
He disclosed that according to the appointment letter from the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Oba Ademola’s appointment takes effect from Friday, October 23, 2026.
Oba Saka Abioye Ademola succeeds the late Oba Abdullahi Okunloye, Agunloye II, who joined his ancestors in 2025.
The ODU Chairman expressed confidence that the new reign will bring peace, unity, and development, urging indigenes at home and abroad to support the new king.
He also appreciated Governor Ademola Adeleke for approving the appointment, saying it will ensure continuity of traditional leadership in Ofatedo.
“On behalf of all sons and daughters of Ofatedo, we warmly congratulate Kabiyesi. May his reign bring enduring peace, unity and progress,” he said.
