Prayer for Nigeria: Tinubu Leaves for Saudi Arabia

President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Thursday, October 29, for Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to perform Umrah, during which he is expected to offer prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability and continued progress.

The planned pilgrimage was announced on Wednesday in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the Presidency, the visit will provide Tinubu with an opportunity for spiritual reflection, devotion and prayers for the country.

Umrah is an Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah involving religious rites and acts of worship. Unlike the annual Hajj, it can be performed at different times of the year.

The statement said the President would undertake the religious rites associated with Umrah while seeking divine guidance and blessings for Nigeria and its citizens.

“The visit gives the President an opportunity for spiritual reflection, devotion, and prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability, and continued progress,” Onanuga stated.

“While in Makkah, President Tinubu will perform the religious rites associated with Umrah, seeking Allah’s guidance and blessings for Nigeria and its people.”

Before departing the country, Tinubu is scheduled to commission equipment recently acquired by the Nigerian Air Force to support its operations.

The commissioning ceremony will take place at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

The Presidency did not specify the type or number of equipment to be commissioned or provide further details about their operational deployment.

Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria next week after completing the pilgrimage.

The statement did not announce a specific date for his return or provide details of other engagements during his stay in Saudi Arabia.
