Gunmen Take Hostage Ransome Bearers Of APC Chairman In Ondo

News Update

Gunmen who kidnapped Nelson Adepoyigi, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman for Ward 5 in Ifon, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, have now taken hostage the two men sent to deliver his ransom.

Adepoyigi was abducted on Monday night in front of his home along the Ifon/Owo road.

The kidnappers dragged him from his car, hit him with a plank, and took him into the forest.

They initially demanded N100 million for his release but later agreed to accept N5 million.

However, when the ransom was delivered on Wednesday night by two men identified as Bayode Loco and Isimeri, the kidnappers tied them up instead of releasing Adepoyigi.

A family source revealed that the kidnappers are now demanding an additional N30 million for the release of all three hostages.

This new demand has left Adepoyigi’s family and political associates deeply worried.

Hon. Kolapo Oja, the Chairman of Ose Local Government, confirmed the situation and urged the public to remain calm, saying security forces are working hard to rescue the victims.

Efforts to get an update from the police spokesperson were unsuccessful.
