Sultan Of Sokoto Confirms Date For Sallah In Nigeria

THE Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has officially announced the sighting of the moon, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement released on Saturday, March 29, 2025, the Sultan confirmed that Eid al-Fitr for the year 1446 AH will be celebrated across Nigeria tomorrow, Sunday, March 30, 2025.

The sighting of the crescent moon signifies the beginning of Shawwal, the tenth month of the Islamic calendar, and the conclusion of Ramadan, a month dedicated to fasting, prayer, and reflection.

Muslims across the country are now set to observe the joyous festival of Eid al-Fitr with special prayers, family gatherings, and acts of charity.

The Sultan urged Nigerians to celebrate peacefully, embrace unity, and pray for continued peace and prosperity in the country.
