State Governor Suspends Chief Of Staff, Other Top Government Officials, Here’s Why

News Update

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has suspended three senior officials from his administration, over poor performance.

The affected individuals include his Chief of Staff, Abdullahi Usman Gbatamagi; Director General of Protocol, Abdullahi Yerima; and Chief Details.

The decision was announced during a State Council meeting held at the Government House in Minna.

The suspension, which takes immediate effect, will last for one month.

The Governor instructed the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman, to issue official letters to the suspended officials without delay.

Sources say the move came as a surprise, as the suspended aides had recently accompanied the Governor on trips to Lagos and Abuja.
