Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has explained why he visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Monday.
It was earlier reported that Atiku had arrived the Olusegun Obasanjo presidential library, Abeokuta, at about 12:36 pm on Monday.
The former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate was accompanied by former governor of Cross River, Liyel Imoke, former Sokoto governor, Aminu Tambuwal, and Sokoto South senator, Abdul Ningi.
A popular Newspaper reported that the closed door meeting lasted about 1 hour 30 minutes.
When asked details of the meeting, Atiku told newsmen that it was just a courtesy visit and declined further comment.
“It’s just a courtesy visit please, I am not going to talk about politics please,” he said.
Another report revealed that Atiku was the Vice-President to Obasanjo between 1999 and 2007.
Recently, Atiku hosted former Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, at his residence in Adamawa State.
