Councillors Receive Official Vehicles

Prince Isaac Umejuru, the Executive Chairman of Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area in Rivers State, has handed over 11 luxury vehicles to councillors in his administration.

The move is aimed at enhancing governance and improving service delivery at the grassroots level.

The presentation of the vehicles took place during an event marking the chairman’s first 100 days in office.

The occasion also featured several empowerment initiatives designed to support residents and boost local economic growth.

Speaking at the event, Umejuru highlighted that the provision of vehicles would assist councillors in carrying out their legislative responsibilities effectively.

He stressed the importance of equipping public officials with the necessary resources to ensure better representation and governance.

Beyond the car distribution, the program included various empowerment efforts targeting different groups in the community. Women received sewing and grinding machines to support small-scale businesses, while motorcycles and tricycles were distributed to young entrepreneurs to promote self-reliance.

Hon. Sokari Goodboy Sokari, the Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, officially handed over the vehicles to the councillors.

Meanwhile, Ehie Edison, the Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Government, praised the initiative, describing it as an extension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s commitment to grassroots development.
