State Govt Declares Free Education For Female Indigenes

News Update

THE Jigawa State Government has announced free education for female indigenes in state-owned institutions, covering all levels from primary school to PhD.

Governor Umar Namadi spearheaded the initiative, which aims to empower women through education and ensure financial barriers no longer hinder their academic aspirations.

Jigawa State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof Isa Chamo, hailed the programme as a milestone in advancing gender equality.

“This is a significant step towards empowering women. By providing free education, the government is enabling women to make informed decisions, achieve their goals, and contribute to their communities,” he said.

The initiative is designed to encourage more girls to pursue education by removing financial obstacles.

The Executive Secretary of the Jigawa State Scholarships Board, Sa’idu Magaji, stated the dedication behind the programme’s implementation.

“We believe education is the key to unlocking potential. This initiative reflects our commitment to supporting female students at every stage of their academic journey,” Magaji stated.

Observers see this development as a transformative effort to uplift women and promote societal progress in Jigawa.

The programme aligns with global calls for increased access to education for girls and women, a critical factor in achieving sustainable development.
