Oyetola Is Our Sole Candidate For 2026 Gov’ship, Osun APC Chairmen Reaffirms

News Update

THE Forum of Osun APC Chairmen has reaffirmed its support for Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, the immediate past governor of Osun State and current Minister of Blue and Economy, as their preferred candidate for the 2026 governorship election. The Forum members described Oyetola as their “compass and guide” and expressed their desire for him to contest the election to complete his constitutionally recognized two terms.

The Forum clarified that should the former governor decline to contest the 2026 election, he definitely would direct the path they would follow being the Apex Leader of the party in the state.

Speaking through its Chairman, Elder Rufus Awotidoye, the group said, ” Our Leader, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, is our Candidate for the 2026 election. We want him to contest so he could complete his constitutionally recognized two terms.

Unless he declines to run, we are solidly behind him for the 2026 election. However, in the event that he chooses not to contest, we hold that he remains the main decider of whom the ticket should be extended to.”

The Forum stated that they believed in the good judgement of Oyetola and his capacity to show direction regarding 2026 because he has shown over the years that he is a stickler for equity, justice and fairness.”

At a luncheon held at the Osogbo residence of Engr Oluremi Omowaiye, Executive Director (Projects Implementation) of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), the Forum praised Oyetola’s leadership and his ability to hold the party together. They also commended his financial and moral support for the party since November 2022.

Omowaiye criticized the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, describing it as a “colossal failure” despite the state’s significant revenue accruals over the past 26 months.

He also appreciated Nigerians for their support to the Tinubu administration and reassured them that the President’s reforms in the petroleum and housing sectors would soon manifest.
