The Director General of the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, Captain Alex Badeh, and his team paid a visit to the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, to foster collaboration on advancing transport safety and accident prevention in the state.

In a statement signed on Sunday, by the Director, Public Affairs and Family Assistance, NSIB, Bimbo Oladeji, Badeh praised Governor Makinde’s leadership and commitment to infrastructural development, emphasising the vital role of safety in transportation and other sectors.

He highlighted NSIB’s mission to improve safety through thorough incident investigations.

“We are here today to express our admiration for your visionary leadership and to explore how we can work together to promote a culture of transport safety in Oyo State,” said Badeh.

“NSIB is committed to ensuring that safety remains at the forefront of every development initiative, and we believe that by working with state governments, we can create safer environments across Nigeria.”

In response, Makinde welcomed the delegation and commended NSIB’s efforts in enhancing transport safety nationwide. He expressed his administration’s readiness to collaborate with the bureau, particularly in improving safety protocols within Oyo State.

“Your work is critical in ensuring that we learn from past accidents and prevent future occurrences, and I am pleased to see your proactive approach in reaching out to stakeholders at all levels,” Governor Makinde remarked.
