Owa Obokun Succession: Ofokutu Family Dismisses Unilateral Withdrawal Rumors

News Update

THE Ofokutu Royal Family has debunked claims by Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi that individual contestants from the family have withdrawn their case concerning the Owa Obokun throne from court. In a strongly worded statement, the family described the claim as incorrect and misleading.

According to the family, the decision to seek justice through the court was a collective one, and no individual member has the authority to unilaterally withdraw the case. “This appears to be an attempt to create division within the family,” the statement read.

The Ofokutu Royal Family emphasized that any decision regarding the court case can only be made collectively by the family. They urged the public to disregard any information suggesting otherwise, reaffirming that the case remains active in court. The family expressed confidence that the court will rule in their favor, affirming their rightful claim to the throne following the passage of His Imperial Majesty Owa Obokun Adimula Aromolaran.

Omo oba Banji Obembe who is the chairman ofokutu Ruling house reiterated the family’s position. He clarified that the legal action is not targeted at the Agba Ijesa but is driven by a commitment to fairness and the prevention of marginalization within the royal lineage.

As the legal proceedings continue, the Ofokutu Royal Family called on the Ijesa community, stakeholders, and the public to remain patient and trust in the judicial process to deliver a fair resolution to the matter.
