Seventy-six minors who had been detained in Kano were safely returned to their families on Tuesday night.
The minors arrived via a Max aircraft at Malam Aminu International Airport around 9:57 pm. The flight also carried Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf.
The minors’ release came earlier in the day, following a directive from President Bola Tinubu, who ordered their freedom.
Upon their arrival, Governor Yusuf was joined by several key state officials, including Deputy Governor Abdul Salam Gwarzo, Speaker of the State Assembly Alhaji Isma’ila Falgore, and other prominent figures from the state government and political circles.
Immediately following their return, the minors were transported in three buses to Muhammadu Buhari Special Hospital.
At the hospital, a team of medical professionals was on standby to evaluate the children’s physical and mental well-being after their ordeal.
