Tinubu govt wants investors but parades minors before court – Human rights lawyer

A human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong says President Bola Tinubu’s administration expects the international community and investors to take Nigeria seriously but parades minors before court.

Effiong, in a post on his X handle on Friday, said the current government is making a mockery of the nation’s criminal justice system.

“The Tinubu regime is making a mockery of our criminal justice system.

“You expect the international community and investors to take Nigeria seriously, but you’re parading minors before a Federal High Court in the most dehumanizing conditions because they allegedly took part in protests. We cannot continue like this,” he wrote.

The statement comes amid the uproar that greeted the arraignment of protesters, mostly minors, who participated during the recent EndBadGovernance protest.

According to report, one of the minors collapsed before the commencement of trial.
