Tragedy as Two students crushed to death in Akure-Ondo crash

Tragedy struck late Wednesday on the Akure-Ondo road, around Olokunta community in Akure, Ondo State capital when a Toyota car collided with a bicycle crushing two students to death instantly.

The two victims were students of Federal Polytechnic, Ile Oluji.

Responding swiftly to the incident, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Emergency Response, Prince Oriade Wellington Adebawo, arrived at the scene within five minutes for rescue mission along other road users but to know avail as the students could not make it to the hospital.

Adebawo who commiserated with the families of the victims and condemned the reckless driving that led to the accident, warned drivers against over speeding and emphasized the importance of exercising caution on the roads.

The Special Assistant in a statement, stressed the need for drivers to be more vigilant and take necessary safety precautions to prevent such avoidable accidents.
