The Benue Government has insisted that it sealed Oracle Business Limited and its subsidiaries belonging to Samuel Ortom, a former governor of the state over N130 million tax debt accumulated over five years,
The acting Executive Chairman, Benue State Board of Internal Revenue, Sunday Odagba said this while disputing claims that the company was sealed because of the political difference between Ortom and his successor.
He said the action was taken to recover tax income from all corporate entities owing the state government.
He also dismissed claims by the managers of Oracles Business Limited that the tax liability was reviewed to N38m, which the company paid.
Contrary to the claim of the company, Odagba said Oracle Business Limited has not paid taxes in five years amounting to over N130m.
He also said the company failed to respond to invitations for reconciliation of the tax obligations by the Revenue Service.
