Ruling Party Sweeps All 20 LGAs In Bauchi Poll

THE Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has secured victory in all the 20 local government areas in the polls held on Saturday, August 17, in Bauchi State.

THE Executive Chairman of the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC), Alhaji Ahmed Makama, declared the results on Saturday night.

VAM News reports that prior to the election, the main opposition, the All Progressives Congress, APC, had expressed concerns that the ruling PDP and BASIEC might manipulate the election results in favor of the PDP.

It is anticipated that the APC will not accept the results.

The Chairmen-elect are expected to be sworn in on Sunday, August 18.
