Investment: China to expand business interests in Ondo state

…We are making Ondo attractive, conducive for investors, says Gov Aiyedatiwa

Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has expressed the commitment of his administration to enhancing the existing relationship with the People’s Republic of China to further boost the state’s economy.

Governor Aiyedatiwa stated this on Monday when he received the Deputy Mayor of the Linyi Municipal People’s Government of Shandong City, China, Sun Deshi and his team at the governor’s office in Akure.

Highlighting the mutual benefits for Nigeria and China, Governor Aiyedatiwa noted that Ondo State is rich in natural and human resources. He advocated for an increased exchange of business ideas, particularly in technology, education, and agriculture, to help Nigeria overcome current challenges.

The Governor also affirmed the continuity of the working agreement signed by the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu with the Chinese city for the operation of the Ondo-Linyi Industry Park in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area.

Governor Aiyedatiwa, who promised the Chinese delegation the maximum support of government, stressed that his administration is making the State more attractive and conducive for investors to do business.

In his address, Deputy Mayor Sun Deshi of Linyi Municipal People’s Government expressed China’s interest in collaborating with the Ondo State Government to expand the already established companies, emphasizing China’s expertise in technology, agriculture, and construction.

Ms. Yan Yuqing, the Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Lagos, praised the Ondo State Government for the establishment of the Linyi Industrial Hub and its hospitality.

Ms. Yiqing promised to expedite more business opportunities in Ondo State.

Those at the meeting included the Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince Segun Omojuwa, Commissioner for Information, Hon Wale Akinlosotu, and a facilitator of the Ondo-Linyi Industrial Hub, Chief Alex Ajipe, among others.
