Voice Air Media, News Update

Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board ODSUBEB is set to conduct physical interviews for over eight thousands applicants that passed the Computer Based Test to teach in the Public Primary Schools across the State.

The exercise according to the Executive Chairman of the Board, Rt Hon Victor Olabimtan contrary to public out cry that greeted the recently released list of successful applicants that passed the qualifying Examinations for the job, is to select the best suitably qualified candidates out of those that were invited for the interviews

In a release signed by ODSUBEB Director Information and Public Relations, Prince Bolu Diesel Ajijo, to reduce the stress of the applicants from far flung areas of the State, the Board has decided to conduct the interviews close to their bases at a centre in each of the Federal Constituencies to which the state is divided into.

The Board also divided the panel to conduct the physical interviews into 3 – Team, and each Team will handle the exercise at headquarters of one of the local government areas in the federal Constituency chosen for the interview

For the purposes of this exercise, each applicant is expected to bring to the venue of the exercise all his/her original certificates including birth and Primary six Certificates.

Olabimtan who appreciated the State Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for approving the recruitment of 1000 teachers for Primary and Secondary Schools each said the gesture will go a long way to bridge avoidable gap between quality of education of received by Pupils/Students in rural and urban areas respectively.

According to the former, Chairman, Ondo State Teaching Service Commission, TESCON, some of the reasons that informed the on going exercise is to fill existing critical vacancies in our Public Primary Schools and at the same time address the nagging issue of school children in our State.

To Olabimtan if the issue of disparity in the quality of education received by children in rural areas and that of urban centers is not addressed frontally it is going to be a time bomb that will do no one
any good in the nearest future.
