THE Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) has commended the courage and commitment of Samson Ajao in his effort to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest reading Marathon in Osun.
Chairman of the association, Mukhtar Ajelogbon made the declaration during a solidarity visit to Ajao at the ongoing Read-A-Thon at Adolak Conference Hall in Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Saturday.
Ajelogbon who represented OOPA alongside the Public Relations Officer of the association, Yusuf Idowu, applauded Ajao’s commitment and dedication toward improving reading culture and promoting literacy in the society, assuring him of the Osun Online Publishers Association’s support to his cause.
Samson embarked on a remarkable 214-hour Read-a-Thon since Monday, May 6, 2024, with the event scheduled to conclude on May 14, 2024 to break the current 124 hours world record for the longest marathon reading aloud by Rysbai Isakov from Kyrgyzstan in Bursa, Turkey from September 22 to 27, 2022.
At the time of OOPA visit, Ajoa had reached 127 hours out of his 214 journey of Read-A-Thon to break the world record.
Ajelogbon, however, urged Ajao Samson not to relent in his dream to set a new Guinness World Record from Osun state, Nigeria.
